SILVER FOR ESPIRITU DE CHILE at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2007

May 2007

Once again a wine of the ESPIRITU DE CHILE brand family was honoured for its outstanding quality. The Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 received Silver at the influential competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, renowned leader of Wine and Spirits competitions, was held from April 29th until May 1st at the Congress Centre in Maastricht (NL).This year’s challenge brought together 5735 wines and spirits from around the world. The participating wines originated from 47 producing countries with some ‘exotic’ destinations like Bolivia, Philippines, Barbados as well as the Netherlands and were blind-tasted and assessed by a cosmopolitan panel of 220 renowned œnologists, sommeliers and journalists. At the end of the three days of careful tasting, the medals, which represent invaluable quality control marks, were awarded to the best vintages.

ESPIRITU DE CHILE Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 is a D.O quality from the Chilean wine region Valle Central. The wine is a rich, dark-red Cabernet Sauvignon that captivates with its dense and seamlessly harmonious structure. The jury especially esteemed its aromas of blackcurrants, wild berries and elderberries which are harmoniously complemented with a delicate touch of vanilla. 12 months maturation in oak gave the wine an elegant note of wood, a distinctive character and a long-lasting finish.
